Occasionally, you may discover bugs that are causing the app to crash (exit suddenly). If the app is crashing, it is very helpful if you can send a crash dump along with a brief description of what you did just prior to the crash so that the exact cause of the bug can be more easily identified. Here are instructions for locating the crash logs.

You must first attach your device to a computer with the USB cable and open up the iTunes application on the computer. This will then download any crash logs from the device to the computer so you can then access the crash files from the computer.

Locating Crash Logs on Mac

  • Open a Finder window
  • Choose “Go -> Go to Folder”
  • Enter ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice
  • Find the folder named after your device (iPhone, iPad, etc).

Locating Crash Logs on in Windows

  • Windows Vista/7/8: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice
  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter

Once you have nagigated to the correct directory (above), you should see file named after the application (Example: ipgmail_2014-01-17-164010_wyllys-iPhone.crash). Select that file and attach in an email to info@ipgmail.com
